MLA and APA Citations (Similarities and Differences)

Some similarities between MLA and APA citations are: 1) They both require that you place the page number in the upper right-hand corner of every page 2) The formats are similar because they are both double-spaced 3) They both have centered titles Some Differences between MLA and APA citations are: 1) Different title pages 2) One has a works cited page and one has a reference page 3) APA has an abstract page while MLA doesn't 4) MLA is best used with Humanities while APA is best used for Social Sciences 5) MLA has one title while APA has a title and multiple headings throughout

Minor Assignment 8/22/18

This beginning writing assignment explains that we must find an advanced writer in our field and have at least a minimum of 6 sources (3 academic and 3 non-academic). This writing assignment is a little different then I'm used to doing, but isn't exactly new either. Last year in my English class that I was taking, we were asked to ask someone in our field of choice what it was like and to really find out what the job was about. However, it was a much simpler assignment where this one asks much more of us. Finding an interview can take a while depending if you know the person or not and along with writing the questions and finding 6 additional sources can be quite time consuming. Particular writing genres are different for every person and finding what genre my interviewer has may help me see what is the best way to write in this field and possibly get some tips as well.
